📍 Role: Sr. Financial Analyst
📍 Location: San Diego, CA 92101 (Onsite at Symphony Towers)
💰 Compensation Range: $80,000-$120,000/year

At Luminize, we don’t just track performance — we use data to drive smarter decisions, stronger margins, and scalable growth.

As one of the top 5 Amazon sellers in the U.S., we operate in a fast-moving, high-volume environment where financial insight directly impacts strategy. We’re looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who can go beyond reporting to build scalable frameworks, uncover profitability drivers, and help leadership understand what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what to do next.

If you’re energized by complex data, e-commerce economics, and turning analysis into action — this role is for you.

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing
  • Own Financial Insights That Drive the Business
    • Lead financial analysis and forecasting across brands, product lines, and sales channels
    • Build scalable models to evaluate pricing, cost structures, and gross margin performance
    • Conduct variance and bridge analysis between operational sales data and financial results during month-end close
    • Analyze SKU-level trends and identify risks, opportunities, and profitability drivers

  • Improve Accuracy, Visibility, and Scale
    • Manage tracking and reconciliation for vendor co-op marketing, rebates, discounts, and reimbursements
    • Evaluate the impact of Amazon fees, promotions, and pricing changes on margins
    • Develop recurring and ad hoc reporting for leadership to support data-driven decisions
    • Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and Operations to ensure accurate revenue recognition and financial integrity

  • Solve Root Causes, Not Just Symptoms
    • Collaborate with Brand, Supply Chain, IT, and Operations to resolve discrepancies and data quality issues
    • Identify process gaps and recommend system or workflow improvements
    • Support development and maintenance of controls documentation to ensure audit readiness and compliance

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 4–7 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or forecasting within high-volume retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods
  • Expert-level Excel or Google Sheets skills for financial modeling and large dataset analysis
  • Experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI) and familiarity with SQL
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Gross margin, COGS, pricing, and profitability analysis
  • Revenue reconciliation and variance analysis
  • Vendor co-op marketing, rebates, and promotional discounting
  • Amazon fee structures or e-commerce financial operations (preferred)
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
  • Proven success collaborating cross-functionally across Finance, Operations, IT, and Brand teams
