🚀 Help Brands Win on Amazon - Love Where You Work

📍 Role: eCommerce Compliance Specialist (Amazon Marketplace)
📍 Location: San Diego, CA 92101 (Onsite at Symphony Towers)
💰 Compensation Range: $28.00–$34.00/hour DOE

At Luminize, we help brands win, and as one of the top 5 Amazon sellers in the US, we're looking for top performers to grow with us.

Have you ever fought Amazon Seller Support and won?

When Amazon suspends a listing over a labeling claim, an ingredient flag, or a policy violation, revenue stops that day. We're looking for an eCommerce Compliance Specialist to work those cases end to end: research the requirement, build the argument, write the appeal, and get our brands back online.

This is hands-on marketplace compliance, not policy administration. It's a specialized skill set with very few places to learn it properly, and you'll learn it directly from our Director of Compliance.

If you want your next move to mean more — more ownership, more growth, and more impact — we would love to meet you!

🎯 What You'll Be Doing

  • Open, manage, and drive Amazon Seller Support cases through to resolution
  • Draft Amazon appeals, Plans of Action, and the documentation that makes them land
  • Research laws and regulations governing how consumer goods are advertised, labeled, and sold, including FDA and EPA requirements
  • Translate regulatory and Amazon policy language into clear guidance our brand teams can act on
  • Serve as the point of contact for compliance questions from Brand Management, Advertising, Catalog, and our clients
  • Track federal and state policy changes and flag portfolio risk before it becomes a case
  • Spot the patterns behind repeat violations and build the fixes that prevent them
  • Manage daily deliverables across multiple clients and categories, meeting accuracy and turnaround standards

✅ What You Bring

  • 1+ years in eCommerce, marketplace operations, regulatory affairs, or compliance
  • Hands-on Amazon Seller Central experience, which counts more here than a compliance job title
  • Ability to read a regulation or policy page, work out what it actually requires, and explain it to a non-expert
  • Strong persuasive and technical writing, often under a word limit and to an automated audience
  • High accuracy on high-volume, detail-heavy documentation work
  • Comfort managing competing deadlines across multiple clients without losing track of anything
  • Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information
  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Preferred

  • Amazon Account Health or Brand Registry experience
  • Background with 3P sellers, aggregators, or an Amazon agency
  • Exposure to FDA or EPA regulated categories (supplements, cosmetics, OTC, pesticides)
  • Plans of Action you wrote that were accepted
  • Experience with Asana, Monday.com, or similar
  • Comfort working in AI-assisted workflows and a willingness to adopt emerging automation tools

🏙 Work From Symphony Towers

Your office comes with a view, literally.

  • Panoramic city and coastline views from your workspace
  • Free building gym access, no separate membership needed
  • Exclusive discounts at tower restaurants and cafes
  • Secure bike storage
  • 24/7 paid parking downtown, blocks from the office
  • Steps from 100+ top-rated bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and Petco Park

🛋️ An Office You'll Actually Want to Be In

Built for how great teams actually work.

  • Ergonomic standing desks and premium workstations
  • Fully stocked kitchen, snacks, espresso
  • Monthly all-company lunches to celebrate wins and stay connected
  • A team lounge with pool table and games for when you need a break
  • Bright, modern, collaborative space designed for focus and connection

🎁 Benefits & Perks

You do great work here and we want to take care of you outside of it, too.

  • Comprehensive medical coverage, choose from multiple plans through Anthem Blue Cross
  • Dental & vision, including orthodontia and annual exams
  • Pet benefits, savings on vet care, products, and services
  • Paid Vacation, accrue 120 hours a year, with rollover
  • Paid holidays and sick time
  • 401(k) with company match, we invest in your future, too

💵 Compensation Transparency

This role is hourly and non-exempt, with a posted range of $28.00–$34.00/hour. Where you land in the range will depend on how your background aligns with this role, particularly your hands-on marketplace and regulatory experience.

We are committed to compensating based on value and impact, not just years on paper, and we are happy to have open conversations throughout the process. We also want to be upfront that this is a role we hire into, train deeply, and promote out of, and our leveling guidelines lay out exactly what the next step looks like.

📈 Growth & Career Opportunities at Luminize

At Luminize, growth isn't just something we drive for our clients; it's our mindset and a big priority for our people.

We offer clear career paths and leveling guidelines so you always know where you stand, what's next, and what skills and experience you need to get there. From day one, you'll have visibility into advancement opportunities and what it takes to grow into leadership, specialization, or other cross-functional roles.

Compliance is a small, high-impact team with a defined ladder. Strong performers here advance into Compliance Specialist II and into brand protection work, reporting to and learning directly from our Director of Compliance.

We are proud of our strong track record of promoting from within. Many of our team leads and managers started in independent contributor roles and grew by consistently showing initiative, curiosity, and impact. We only hire externally when needed, because we believe the best future leaders are often already here.

You'll also benefit from:

  • Mentorship from experienced managers during 1:1s and annual performance reviews
  • Cross-functional exposure to departments including content, brand management, software, supply chain, operations, and catalog
  • Learning resources, including Udemy course access, and additional training programs and courses
  • A culture that encourages asking questions, trying new things, and leveling up together

Excited to take ownership and grow, both in your craft and your career? You would be in good company here.
