Luminize is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant with a strong background in inventory accounting to join our team and contribute to our core financial operations. In this position, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting principles, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks and Bill.com, and a keen eye for detail. Staff Accountants are crucial to the financial health of the company, responsible for tasks such as data entry, reconciling accounts, and managing both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes. Responsibilities Include:
  • Invoice Management: Create and process invoices in QuickBooks, maintaining a systematic and organized approach to billing procedures.
  • Inventory Accounting: Manages and supports accurate inventory tracking for financial purposes, Perform inventory reconciliation, handle discrepancies with vendors, ensure accurate CoGS.
  • Payment & Deposit Allocation: Ensure payments are tied to appropriate AP invoices and deposits are tied to corresponding AR invoices.
  • Virtual & Physical Card Management: Manages virtual & physical cards effectively, including reconciliation and documentation of virtual card transactions.
  • Bill.com Operations: Actively manages bill.com platform, utilizing its features to streamline the accounts payable process.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring timely and accurate payment of bills, invoices, and adherence to payment terms. Includes tying deposits and payments to appropriate AP/AR invoices.
  • Accounts Receivable Collections: Follow up on AR collections, notifying CEO of past-due customers and managing the AR process.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with relevant departments to validate and rectify cost-related discrepancies.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ Years of Inventory Accounting Experience.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in general accounting or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrable understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong experience operating within Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other relevant accounting software.
  • Established understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • E-commerce industry experience preferred.
